Here are the highlights from the excellent Aganos Reveal stream that took place on February 13th, 2015:
- The camera has been moved out a bit so Aganos does not cover the health bars
- You cannot walk away any farther from Aganos than any other character
- Special UI/meter for Aganos (little stones)
- Aganos has a “chunk system”
- These rock “chunks” can be used as armor. Each hit removes a chunk
- You can regain chunks with button command. Aganos picks these chunks from the ground
- The more chunks you have the slower you are (low jumps, slow walk and punches)
- Has 5 frame normal but with one or more chunks that slows down
- Back + Heavy Punch regains chunks
- Max 4 chunks
- Yes, you can throw Aganos (actually a huge weakness of Aganos)
- Armor chunks will not prevent you from throwing Aganos
- Every character besides Riptor and Spinal can jump over Aganos (Riptor can use tail flip and Spinal can use teleport though)
- Aganos has a jumping kick that causes a wall bounce (first jumping kick to do so)
- You can also use the chunks as a projectile
- Very fast projectiles
- Aganos can also use his chunks to create walls/stage borders
- Can create more than one wall
- The first way to get rid of a wall is to perform a wall splat on them (they have three health bars)
- If you knock Aganos down all the walls up take one damage
- A special move that Aganos has is a punch that punches the opponent through the walls while adding an insane amount of damage with each one (wall crash)
- You can pick up a wall you created as Aganos and beat your opponent with it
- You can hit your opponent with it three times (same 3 health bar as before)
- You can also throw it as a projectile (biggest projectile in the game)
- Instinct Mode (Peace Time) gives Aganos infinite wall sticks/bats (peace stick) that you can hit and throw at your opponents
- Do not fight Aganos like you would fight any other character in the game. Need to be conscious of the armor. Once you strip the armor go crazy
- Aganos mirror match disables the chunk armor
- Forgotten Grotto is the stage name for Aganos
- Walls stay between rounds
- Stage Ultra on Forgotten Grotto turns the opponent into a rock statue that then disintegrates into dust

This feels broken to me, and I’m really disappointing that we’re getting another character like this. Omen is completely unbalanced, and Aganos’s walls are going to be really, really frustrating. I watched the stream, and the walls are the most frustrating mechanic I’ve seen this season. I hate that they take three hits, I hate that they stay up after a round ends, and I hope this is not the final product. I hope if those mechanics aren’t changed, that his damage isn’t quite as massive at it looked during the stream.
His design is awesome, but I doubt I’ll ever play as him because in my honest oppinion, some of that shit is mad cheap. Hope I’m wrong, but it’s definitely not looking awesome (to me).
Also… that armor, dude. What the hell, that plus the walls AND his instinct? Really worried about this.
Seriously this season is the rise of Ultra Tech well when will it take place ?!?! Aganos REALLY!?!?! I mean ultra tech built Fulgore where and all we get is a mummy a visually unappealing flying demon and now a rock/tree oh well thanks for ruining ki Iron Galaxy with broke mechanics and bad game designs. And im sure SF fanatics and anime freaks will rip me for this on here but thats what ki has been made is another street fighter anime . But honestly before ripping my comment play some games with the cast from Double helix then play just with Iron galaxy and truly tell which is better
I agree shadow Jago should be made for public play you listen to other concerns be a balance mechanics of the game in general the exclusivity of shadow Jago has been long enough. I think he should be allowed to be released as a normal character now with his own move set and storyline for the amount of time he was possessed by omen. What did shadow Jay go do that because chaos in the storyline it will be good to explain this I definitely like shadow Jago make them a little more unique than he was when he was originally put in the game. Give them a little bit of an ability that he has not had besides the repetitive slides but do something with shadow Jago I think it was a great boss captain I think that particular character deserves his own story and move set to some level beyond Jago’s doesn’t mean he has to be the strongest character unbalanced but give it to him in a balanced for nap
Liking the way Aganos is turning out! The first newcomer I like the look of for Season 2. Wasn’t impressed by Kan-Ra and especially Omen TBH. But like the look of Aganos!

According to the producers, its a little of both. its not KI3 and its not a re-boot. its a mix. But leans more towards a re-boot. (Thats straight from the producers mouth in the Ultra KI fan book interviews.
And at the same time more of a reimagining for this new KI
