Killer Instinct for Xbox One will be free to download with one free playable character available. Additional characters will be available for purchase starting at $4.99 / £3.99 / €4.99 each.
Players can also purchase special discounted character packages:
Combo Breaker Pack –– Save 50 percent instantly by purchasing the Combo Breaker pack, which includes the first 8 characters (6 at launch, plus 2 characters before their official post-launch release) for $19.99 / £16.99 / €19.99.
Ultra Edition – The Ultra Edition delivers the best value for Killer Instinct fans. Available for $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99, the Ultra Edition includes:
-The first 8 characters (6 at launch, plus 2 characters before their official post-launch release)
-Character accessory packs
-Character costumes
-The original “Killer Instinct” arcade game
So there you have it! Only six characters will be available at launch. Not very good, but we’ll have to deal with it. The best part though is Rare’s Killer Instinct coming with the Ultimate Edition! i have combo breaker add on and now want to get the ultra edition… do i have to paly the $4o dollars or can i buy it for another $20 since i allready spent $20 dollors?

KI is practically the best fighting game ever invented. I absolutely have no complaints, just greatful that after all those years of waiting for it to come back, its finally here. I cannot wait to play it!!!
I’m excited for this game to come out but they should wait another year & come out with a full disc version. 8 isn’t enough characters but I would love to play the original KI on my Xbox!
I don’t think the “six characters” at launch includes Jago since he’s free and shouldn’t be part of the pack so techinically there will be seven characters at launch.
I really want a physical disk. Also, I don’t mind waiting for more characters. I want them to take as much time as they need to get it right.
