So even though all of Season one has yet to be released most of the KI community is eagerly awaiting news on Season two. While it has been hinted at here and there on multiple Play XBLA streams we still don’t have any concrete confirmation. Yesterday Phil Spencer, Head of Microsoft Studios, tweeted one more hint to news on Season two:
Phil has been a huge fan and has showed lots of support for Killer Instinct. Let’s hope the news coming not only includes confirmation on Season two but who will be leading development. The Game Developers Conference coming up is more for the industry so it seems unlikely that any news will be shared then. Hopefully we hear something before E3.

“KI continues to get great support” ki is getting a new developer for season 2, I hope they don’t intend to wait until after season 1 to get started on season 2. DH is finishing season 1 right now, what I hope has happened and it’s a long shot at this point is that the other developer has already been set but they just aren’t announcing it yet. That would mean that season 2 is already in the works and could be released right after season 1 ends. It was said (by ken lobb I think) that they usually work on 2 characters at a time and each character takes 2-3 months to complete. So if they are currently working on season 2 and it’s being released the same way as season 1 then we could expect season 2 by around august this year. Gonna be pissed if they don’t even start until after season 1 ends, it’s not about being greedy and wanting it all now. KI needs frequent updates and news to keep it alive and if we have to wait until 2015 for season 2 I don’t know if it will last. This time next year season 3 should be either released or being released. This is my favorite fighter and I want it to last, it’s better than most fighting games right now and that’s without a huge roster. Another thing to think about is that season 2 wouldn’t just have new characters, I’m hoping for more modes etc to be implemented as well as ki2 arcade. I swear they better have another developer working on season 2 right now, they are going to ruin a good thing if they don’t wise up and announce something soon besides fulgore.

Good to hear. I just bought an Xbox One and KI yesterday.
I think there will be some news revealed at the end of the trailer. Hopefully they’ll name the new developer and maybe even a release date for shadow jago’s moveset (hoping he gets his own stage/music/accessories/colors)
I hope so too including for Shadow Jago. Or probably another character reveal after Fulgore’s official trailer release like Cinder or Riptor

You could be right also. You just never know for sure. So we just have to wait and see within this month for more upcoming news regarding the overall development of Killer Instinct including Season 2 and the new development team for KI
