Yes, you read that correctly. The ESRB has rated the Pin Ultimate Edition of Killer Instinct M for Mature. The reason has nothing to do with the Xbox One title, however, as it’s largely in- part because of the original Killer Instinct Arcade game that comes with the package. In other words, KI Classic has been re-rated as Mature. Read below to find out why…
This is a fighting game in which players battle human and fantasy creatures in one-on-one contests of strength. Players punch, kick, and throw each other in attempts to deplete opponents’ health meters. Some characters also use weapons such as swords, claws, knives and fireballs. The action is frenetic, and certain attacks cause the camera to zoom in or shake the entire screen. Large blood-splatter effects sometimes occur during fights, staining the ground. Characters perform more dramatic finishing moves that involve impaling/stabbing, throwing opponents off buildings, melting opponents into pools of lava. At the end of fight scenes, there are occasional depictions of dead carcass eaten by victors or bloody meat in victors’ mouths. During the course of the game, a female character is depicted in a revealing outfit, as her breasts sometimes bounce. A female character also performs a finishing move in which she flashes her breasts at an opponent—though only her back is depicted.
Ah man. Really? This is KILLER INSTINCT we’re talking about here. The new one SHOULD be rated M as well. After all, again, this is KI we’re talking about here and it has ALWAYS received a M rating
KI for snes amd N64 was rated teen
Oh. I must have forgotten. After all it has been a long time since I last played both KI and KI2 including the ones on the SNES and the N64. 17+ years to be exact. So overall thanks for the heads-up
To be fair, this is the first time the ESRB has had a chance to look at the arcade game, which was quite a bit more detailed than the HILARIOUSLY downgraded SNES game.
I see
