Here are the highlights from today’s Play XBLA Killer Instinct stream…
- Wanted to make TJ Combo a rushdown character who was much more heavy hitting
- Will see more character reveals between now and the launch of Season Two.
- Will likely have something available for play at EVO.
- There will be a variety of different stages in Season Two.
- TJ Combo doesn’t have an eye patch because he hasn’t quite lost his eye… Yet.
- There could potentially be some dev diaries in the future.
- They are looking at things to adjust from characters in Season One.
- Not sure yet if there will be a Pin Ultimate Edition for Season Two.
- TJ Combo can cancel a Ultra if he has full Instinct.
- Still talking about adding a new announcer, possibly female.
- Recapture is a TJ Combo move, but it may come to other characters as well.
- There will probably be some characters that have unique meter management options, but likely not as radical as Fulgore’s.
- Season Two will bring over another 1000 achievement points.
- Season Two is 100% Microsoft and Iron Galaxy.
- Shadow Jago will be an extra character and not part of the eight characters to be in Season Two.
- There will be new KI merchandise coming in the future.
- Expect a newly designed UI.
- Have some new mechanics in place that they don’t believe has ever been seen in any other fighting game.
- Microsoft and Iron Galaxy will be at EVO. There will be another Killer Instinct panel there like last year.
- Classic costumes will be available for all characters in Season Two.
- Killer Instinct 2 maybe be a bonus for those who purchase the Ultra Edition of Season Two.
- Looking at ways to utilize the extra power of Xbox One following the June SDK update to better the game.
- There will be some good accessory options for TJ.
- Still no confirmation if Mick Gordon will be returning as composer, but to “trust them”.

Pretty much good news in general, except about this f***ing recapture thing and new fight mechanic!! JUST LEAVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Keep the game intact!!

I won’t call “recapture” stupid until I get my hands on it, but if it doesn’t work, it’s gamebreaking. I hope to god they make it work for TJ, leave it FAR FAR AWAY from everyone else including new characters, and I guess I’m okay with that. Anything beyond that is a mistake.

Yes I agree it can break or bank it. It should be an TJ thang if any or every character has the recapture system it could break the game it self
the isn’t just about the recapture, but the recapture AND a new fight mechanic. why’s that!? Why change what we’re playing with till the beginning, I’m OK with the TJ recapture, but if everybody got this shit that will break the game for sure, and all they’ll have to change all characters from the 1st season to match with the second one…And even if they do something OK with the recapture thing, I don’t see any way it could become a better game, they can only do a ”ok i’ll live with it that doesn’t change things” or it could break it
Well let’s just hope that Iron Galaxy will overall develop the recapture mechanic system JUST and ONLY FOR TJ Combo and NO ONE ELSE
Can’t wait for session 2…. and ki2 … does any one know when s2 is coming …. It would be brilliant if ki was 1080p.

Now the developers did say and confirm that KI Season 2 will be release in Fall 2014 meaning Season 2 would most likely come out either in September or October of this year

Don’t worry Tusk, Maya, and Kim Wu WILL come back for KI Season 2. After all the developers DID say that we will see old, familiar, and returning faces as well as new ones for Killer Instinct Season 2
Well, I think they are going to do a surprise about KI2 characters, but, most likely they’ll appear in Season 2 or Season 3.
I wish they add classic KI2 costumes to all characters.

Seriously when are they going to fix the achievement issues? Does no one at MS or IG/DH really give a crap about them? What’s the point of 1000 more points if you can’t get all of the first 1000? Can no one figure out how to fix the code?

There were a couple of achievements glitched for me but after my data got reset, everything popped fine! (I lost 1080 fight titles though)
So if killer instinct 2 events haven’t quite happened then does that mean no ki 2 characters?
Well as the developers mentioned before, they DID say that they are steering away from and avoiding and at the same time pretending that the whole time-travel theme/deal NEVER happen at all. Also in one of Glacius’s endings, Sadira uses one of Glacius’s lost, stolen piece of technology to open this dimensional rift as commissioned by both Ultratech and ARIA so it’s very likely that the KI2 characters Tusk, Maya, and Kim Wu would be bought back for KI Season 2 just by simply going through that dimensional rift opened by Sadira
That is assuming that season two takes place AFTER season 1, because that’s one of many random endings that not all of are considered canon.
