Justin Wong Wins Killer Instinct Tournament At KiT

The Killer Instinct portion of the ongoing Kumite in Tennessee fighting game tournament was held yesterday and reigning KI champion Justin Wong took the crown. This is Justin’s fourth consecutive win. His final opponent was PR Balrog, another big name in the FG scene who nearly won it all with his extraordinary skills with Orchid. Other big names like Chris G. also did really well, progressing to the semi-finals in the losers bracket but was defeated by ROG.

The bigger picture to all of this is how quickly Killer Instinct is growing in the fighting game scene. For big names like Justin, ROG, CDJr, Chris G, FChamp, Perfect Legend and others to be taking up the game so prominently is a pretty big deal and not to be taken lightly. The next big tournament will be the SoCal Regionals at the end of next month and KI will be a part of it. EVO 2014 participants will be announced on Feb. 4th, which is the tournament of tournaments. Fingers crossed KI makes the cut, because if it does then you can expect the game to grow quite significantly if it does!

Congratulations to Justin his win and to everyone who participated!
