I feel like there needs to be some connection to KI2, which KI3 doesn’t exactly do too well. so, here’s my proposed concept for Season 4 and/or KI4:
in the future timeline of KI2, where there are no more Ki tournaments & humanity is on the brink of total destruction under Ultratech’s rule, Orchid’s resistance movement lead by her son (the currently un-named Trunks type character), and trained under his uncle Jago, has successfully managed to create their soldier weapons out of pure desperation from a rival corporation named Aquatech under the code named Thrasher, this human/shark hybrid is programed to hunt down rogue Riptor agents sent out by Ultratech as infiltration units.
meanwhile, angered by the failure of the Fulgore units, Ultratech managed to use the body of Ben Ferris to create their ultimate weapon as Cyber-Cinder: a cybernetic endoskeleton w/ pyrokinetic abilities and an inner furnace, financed by Ultratech’s sub-division Pyrotech (a fun nod to Cinder’s original name). as Cyber-Cinder laid waste to Orchid’s remaining resistance fighters, the Trunks-ish character manages to be sent back through time in the current KI3 timeline in hopes to find a way to end Ultratech once and for all and change the future.
not taking any further risks, Ultratech sends a small team through time lead by Cyber-Cinder himself along with a human/snake mutated experiment (similar to Medusa), a fully cyberized Carnotaurus (Carntore), & the now reprogramed Thrasher.
during the events of this story, a 3rd Shadow Lord appears as a result of the constant disruption of the space time continuum as well as a female sorceress who failed to stop this tyrant in the past and was sealed away until the time where she can fight this Shadow Lord again. predicting the time traveler’s arrival, the time traveler and the reawaken sorceress seek out to find Orchid, Jago, and the rest of the resistance movement.
as we near the final climax of this proposed concept, the 3rd Shadow Lord turns out to be a fusion of 2 enemies. as Gargos was fatally wounded in his battle against Jago, he found a way to cheat death and used the last portion of his magic to be reborn as a more sinister foe. as Ultratech’s final creation and their most powerful weapon yet, the Fulgore-X advanced prototype was designed to an even deadlier machine and a fully independent warrior. a combination of liquid metal and psychic powers, is now fused with the magical and god-like abilities given to him by Gargos, and reborn as the 3rd Shadow Lord. Ultratech’s final creation would be their ultimate downfall. accidentally hurled back in time by Ultratech and frozen by the sorceress, the now God-Like Fulgore is free from his prison. unleashed upon the KI fighters in one last final battle where the victor will determine the fate of their future.

it would have to be something that would either rival or surpass both Eyedol & Gargos in a way that would make it seem like a serious threat. why not take it a step further and make it something more akin to a Hydra? one could say that a Medusa type character would fit, but I’d rather stick with something more powerful and harder to take down than a lady that turns people into stone. still a decent idea that could be a rather interesting twist on the whole genetics thing similar to Riptor. I think it could also fit with my time travel thing I listed bellow.
How about something like lovecraftian , new tsar vampire lord of coven , superman demigod with thunder & Lightning power and have power more like infinity gemstone .
eh, I’d say no on to a few of those ideas. first of all, we already have a vampire type character in the form of Mira. unless if it was more akin to something like the Bat form in Bram Stoker’s Dracula where the character was similar to Sabrewulf in where a character was subjected to Vampirism and promised a cure from Ultratech, then I can easily see the potential. perhaps the vampirism overtook him and became more Bat like and needs to feed on blood to keep his humanity in check. as far as a Thunder type character, eh, we already have Thunder for that. having a Superman demigod type character with thunder & lighting abilities is a little too on the nose, especially since that would compare it to Raiden.
also, no more Marvel-ish plots. I want Ultratech to feel more like a threat like it was in the original game. I kind of feel like Ultratech isn’t much of the corrupt mega corporation threat like it was in the original game. which, yet again, was oddly similar to The Running Man w/ elements from Blade Runner (visuals) & Terminator 2 (feel). adding in even more mythological elements would stray a little too far from what KI was. I’m not saying we can’t have supernatural elements, but just scale it back.

the ideas I proposed was based on what I understand & know about the KI series and still would fit within the KI Universe. Cyber-Cinder to me was a really cool concept that makes sense and would add some menace to both Ben Ferris & Ultratech while a time travel type character similar to Trunks would actually make the time skip make more sense while also adding in some much needed tension. adding a 3rd Shadow Lord could potentially add some much needed consequences to Ultratech’s meddling with the time/space continuum and raise the stakes in the plot. stakes that I just don’t feel with Gargos coming back or Aria basically making Ultratech seem less threatening than before. that, plus adding a human/shark hybrid in the same vein as Street Sharks would not only be cool and new to see but would also give Orchid’s resistance an added level of desperation in their struggle against Ultratech. my proposed ideas are not just based on potential characters, but are also basically centered around the 2 split timelines of KI2’s future & KI3’s present and how it all connects with each other.

also, Chief Thunder is not Nightwolf. Chief Thunder is Nez Percé, and Nightwolf is an Apache. the difference is that the Nez Perce is a tribe from the Southeast while the Apache are from the Southwest. the difference is that Nightwolf comes from a tribe that’s more war-like in nature (makes sense from a warrior who fights against someone like Shao Kahn), while Thunder comes from a tribe who were mostly hunters, fishers, and traders. I’d say the biggest difference is that Thunder’s motivations was based on his brother Eagle. check & mate.

(JOHNNY Walker) I would still say no. having another spiritual demigod in the vein of Eyedol & Gargos has been done already. even my original Hydra concept is over doing it. been there, done that. so, here’s something better. how about a 3rd Shadow Lord in the form of a fused weapon? get this: Gargos at this point would of been fatally wounded by Jago or one of the other heroes. right? ok, so, in the alternate KI2 future, Ultratech would be willing to create their last creation and their most powerful warrior yet. a Fulgore advanced prototype that was created to be their most effective, lethal, and powerful killing machine. Ultratech’s magnum opus if you will. a single machine with the powers of both liquid metal and psychic abilities. now, what if Gargos managed to infuse his god-like powers and magical abilities into this advanced Fulgore unit as Gargos’ final trick up his sleeve to even the odds. a cybernetic god made by man and enhanced by a dying half-god. I can even imagine him designed similar to Iris from Gamera 3 in terms of having a sleek & smooth design with tendrils in his back. the peak of Ultratech’s ingenuity, the last remnant of Gargos’ power, and humanity’s greatest threat.
I apologize in advanced if my previous comment may have seemed a tad bit too long. I actually had a lot I wanted to say since we don’t get too much KI content or news that much now a days. still, I hope some of you out there liked my ideas. hell, maybe they should hire me to work on the story since I actually have plenty of ideas from my background as a character artist.

except it adds nothing to the story. the difference here is that I assume you’re just thinking about what kind of characters to add. while on my end I’m thinking about adding characters that actually adds something to the story. coming from my background as a character artist whose done over 227 designs for my own anime project alone, this is why I’ve added my approach with my proposed characters (which I have since fleshed out). aside from being cool, what exactly does a thunder god type character add to the story of KI aside from just being cool? very little. at least my ideas have more to do with the disruption of the space/time continuum, Ultratech as a threat, expanding the lore in a way that’s similar to the original games, connections between KI2’s alternate future vs Ki3’s current present, actually adding something to the story. and, as an added bonus, I would be willing to do basic concept sketches for this proposed idea if Iron Galaxy were to ever be interested. and yes, I did recently attempted to contact them. that’s how confident I am in this idea. hell, if my anime project alone was able to get positive feedback from 11 actors & 9 actresses including Rutger Hauer and veteran actors from the MK series, then maybe IG would give me a chance with this KI4 concept.

I’m just wondering if we’ll ever get to see the 3 Ultimate Source figures get released. seriously, there has been zero updates on those, and it bums me out that we may never get to see Cinder’s action figure become a reality. maybe they should just allow Storm Collectibles to make figures based on the characters from Killer Instinct. that way, we can easily have a Classic KI1 Fulgore on the shelf right next to Shao Kahn.
as for new characters, I’m not sure if that will ever happen. I myself had plenty of ideas for characters that they could of used in KI3 instead of shoving in guest characters (which is seriously getting old at this point game developers). for example: Cyber-Cinder (from the original timeline) where Ultratech used the body of Ben Ferris to create a pryokinetic endoskeleton fueled by an inner furnace. every time I’ve attempted shared this idea with the guys at Iron Galaxy, they seemed to like it quite a lot.
aside from maybe a human/shark hybrid type character or a 3rd Shadow Lord type character that would of even things out between Eyedol & Gargos (a pyramid of Shadow Lords if you will), one thing I think should be considered is a time travel type character. they still need to explain what happened between KI2 & KI3 since the timeline in KI3 is not consistent. they depicted the events of KI1 in KI3 to be in 1994, but that game originally took place in the distant future and was more akin to the plot of The Running Man. KI2 was all about time travel, and because there are already story elements left in the game for certain characters to connect with KI2, I think it deserves some kind of explanation rather than none at all. especially when certain events are taking place much earlier than they should. a time travel type character in the same vein as Trunk from DBZ would be a rather interesting concept.
maybe he was the son of Orchid who was trained by Jago to lead the resistance in the KI2 future timeline, and sent back in time to find a way to stop Ultratech once and for all. this is also where we could introduce Cyber-Cinder as the main bad guy since he could easily have been Ultratech’s ultimate weapon in their last ditch effort to take out the resistance, causing this character to travel back in time due to desperation. some people may argue that stories in fighting games don’t matter, but many will disagree. I know this will never happen, but it’s still a fun idea that at least in my opinion I wish they could of explored in a way that would actually have some kind of established connection with KI2. it’s not much, but it’s still something.
